I know its coming the inevitable comparison of touch screen devices on the market. until now we have had iPhone vs crap that tried to be an iPhone killer (ie Instink) and so on. Webos, Apple and Android are the beginning of cloud computing in the palm of your hand. now this is how these devices should be compared. How fast the network gets the information and how quick the device gets it to you and how it looks visually. This is great for people that want to do everything on the net like store contacts, email , calendar, maps, facebook, Myspace, advertising, saving slash editing pictures and sending from the net, to storage of documents. Think Google apps in the palm of your hand with out anything really being stored on a device. It starts with the premise that the data services and architecture should be on servers. We call it cloud computing – they should be in a ‘cloud’ somewhere. And that if you have the right kind of browser or the right kind of access, it doesn’t matter whether you have a PC or a Mac or a mobile phone or a Blackberry or what have you. You can get access to the cloud. All mobile devices should be rated by how well they achieve this very form of communication.

The phone comes with a 3.1 inch multi touch display with a resolution of 320 x 480. A full QWERTY keyboard is ready to slide out underneath and there’s an accelerometer ready, just in case you want to browse the internet in a widescreen fashion. 3G is possible via EVDO REV. A and there’s 802.11b/g WiFi, GPS, Bluetooth with A2Dp and a 3 megapixel camera with LED flash and 8gig of storage. Now for the smart stuff. How about a device that tells you when your going to be late to a meeting that's stored in your calendar by looking at your location time of arrival and distance. It will notify you that your going to be late and send an email to your boss telling him your late and will be arriving at an approximate time just by knowing your location and you didn't even do anything but drive. It will plan your day out and download maps of your day from appointment to appointment and list all contacts for you on your daily tasks list that would be used this day. Now this is pretty cool. Finally someone is thinking and with an ex apple employee running the show at palm we might just have an iphone killer, Finally.

Why dish network sux period.

I called dish network to transfer my new service on December 26 and they said "we will see you on the 1st" great I said. I don't mind waiting , I was nice I understood. So the first comes around and guess what? No line of sight for a signal. The guy tells me they will send a person out to check for another option. OK, the guy never shows up. I call dish. They tell me next week. So by then it will almost be a month with no tv! Wow it's been hard. I want to break my contract. What's next? ill keep you up to date. I hope this makes you feel better about your high priced cable.

Food storage for small familys- A must have

I had a friend come up to me and ask why im buying food storage and i told him, because i don't want to be the one killing for food. think about it if we had a major disaster and there was no more food to buy at the stores, what do you think will happen? you think people would just wait for help, maybe for a week or two, people should be prepared for up to 6 months. if anyone wants to debate on this im only an email away. If you love your family's you will buy extra supply's for there safety. Its common sense, but then again there's not much of that left now a days.

Before you start, you need to install::

MobileSubstrate from Cydia
Ruby from Cydia
MobileTerminal from Cydia
Erica Utilities from Cydia

Then:

1. Download this archive: fcsb-054.deb

2. Via SSH, transfer this file in “private/var/mobile”

3. Launch MobileTerminal application and type:

su root
alpine
dpkg -i fcsb-054.deb

4. Respring, and enjoy your new Springboard!

Note: if you want uninstall it, just open Cydia then search and uninstall “Five-Column SpringBoard”

Palms new OS and Device (sprint)

Today palm announced a new smart phone called the PRE. witch comes with a brand spanking new web based OS. the device will come with 8gig of on board memory a 3.1 inch display EVDO REV-A GPS, WIFI and all the other bells and whistles . It includes gesture-based input for interacting with the device. The Pre will be launched on the Sprint network later this year.

Asus eepc running Android OS (nice)

There is a rumor going around about Asus developing an EEPC running the open Android OS! I'm excited about this very much, i hope this is true the possabiltes are endless for the google platform and was developed to run on almost any hardware. I have a feeling this OS will be poping up everywear. Asus is also working on a hand held device that plays mp3, Navagation and works like a PDA. Ill jump on that wagon when it comes. Goodtimes

Mac world 2009

So Mac world kicked off with no steve jobs and nothing new but a 17inch macbook and some apps (sux). and i was hoping for a larger screen ipod touch to use as a netbook :-(. One nice change to itunes is the release of DRM free music (not yet though). making itunes an even bigger money maker might i add. coming in at three new prices for music, starting at $0.69, $0.99 and $1.29 and 3g downloads for music from the itunes store(big deal). The MacBook pro will be running an intell core 2 Dou 2.93GHz 6mb l2 cache , up to 8GB of DDR3 RAM at 1066MHz . Good stuff for a MacBook but still not what i was looking for. Now for what i really wanted ,Netbook or Netbook touch if you will. with an animated graphical interface and android apps but i guess theres always next year. Ill be writing more on mac world soon. I have a couple of more apps from apple and some mobile tech to make fun of.

I was checking out the new tech coming to Ces this week and didn't see a darn thing of interest not even the new operating system called nova from palm. Ive been interested in netbooks and small mobile devices for a long time so I've been following this new trend closely. If i can buy a netbook with android installed with access to the app store id be excited. So I'm crossing my fingers that the little green midget shows up with some googelness. I love the idea having a small netbook for files and web browsing. Good for posting to blogs on the go and small file management. I already have this on my iPhone but a miniature laptop is cake. Now all i need is built in 3g (or LTE/wimax please) connection and I'm off. Now if we could fit a miniature lap top in our pockets with 100gig that would be king. I did hear about a larger ipod touch coming to CES this would be cool but I'm looking for wireless computing every wear device. Mobile office in my pocket power, that's so 2011 if you will. There is another rumor about a 32 gig iPhone coming this could be great for some but i have plenty of space left on mine. I'm excited about creative labs and there steam cell hype. hope it doesn't fall short but it probably will. It will change the world as we know it! (so there add for the booth says lol) Lets just wait and see the big stuff headed are way for 2009. Ill be covering it here.
